Q.   What kind of computer should I have (or buy)?

In short, any Windows-based computer on the market today is more than adequate to run the DCMS.

The DCMS does not run on Apple computer (Macintosh or iMac) unless it is capable of running Windows products. I would seriously try out the demo program on your Mac before you purchased the program.

DCMS Minimum Hardware Requirements

  • Processor - Windows compatible 486 or Pentium class (or better)
  • Operating System - Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP
  • Hard Drive Space - approx. 35 MB (with data and backups)
  • System Memory (RAM)  16 MB (32 MB or higher recommended)
  • Printer - Any printer which works with your operating system - or fax programs such as WIN FAX
  • Monitor - VGA or better - SVGA - 800 x 600 pixels recommended
  • Internet Connection needed for downloading free upgrades and updated Consultant Order Sheets
The DCMS is a full featured 32 bit Windows program, which self installs and creates a program group and a Start Menu program icon to launch the program. Although it will run on Windows 3.1 versions which are equipped with the win-32 API (enhanced windows 3.1) I do not recommend it. It's slow and will probably overburden your computer. On a quick Pentium III running Windows 95/98 or better - it sings!
