Q.
Is there a French or Spanish Version of the DCMS?
With
respect to other language versions of the DCMS. Je regret, mais non. Lo
siento mucho.
I
would have a great deal of trouble supporting the program in French. Although
I speak both French and Spanish, I don't know the technical language required
to describe computer terms.
I
have translated parts of the program into French for the Canadian market
however. The entire inventory can be presented in French and you can search
the inventory in either language. The program asks if you are French. If
so, it displays the inventory in French. If not, it displays in English.
Then,
it asks if each customer is French. If she is, the bill is printed in French,
if not the bill is printed in English - regardless of which language you
recorded the sale in.
The
same goes for letters you create. The DCMS can create a Letterhead for
you to use with Form Letters. If the customer is noted as being French,
the letterhead will be printed in French and likewise if the customer is
English, in English. The body of the letter will be printed exactly
as you type it (in either French or English.
So
is there a French version, no - but your customers would never know it.
As
far as a Spanish equivalent is concerned, I plan to do exactly the same
for the inventory in the Spanish language for my American customers. That
should be complete by the end of the year.
