Q.   I don't live in Canada. Does the DCMS work in my country?

Definitely! The DCMS understands the varying procedures and tax structures of the five countries it operates in (United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom).  Although written in Canada, the DCMS is truly international. The Consultant Order Sheets (COS) are available in all five countries. The product and prices are specific to each individual country.

The main differences between the five countries I work in are product, pricing and taxes.

For instance, if you live in the UK, the DCMS operates in £ (pounds sterling) and understands that the top discount on the order form is 40%. The DCMS also knows that your Seminar year starts on March 1st, not July 1st and calculates your Seminar recognition accordingly.

In the US, it caters for the various possible levels of tax (city/county/state and/or federal) in your area and quickly lets you adjust the tax rate for sales to someone in another tax jurisdiction if you wish.

In Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the program calculates the Goods and Services Tax  It even helps you prepare the paperwork for your remittance to the government.

Actually, I have a small advantage. The most difficult tax jurisdiction to program for is Canada. Ten provinces, all with different quirks and two levels of taxes, with some provinces taxing this and not that... It's maddening! In fact, we even have two provinces which place a tax on tax! It's not New York, New York, but if I can make it here... I can make it anywhere!

The advantage to this is the fact that you can get tips about what works in all the English speaking countries where the company operates. The concept is so popular in fact that we are being asked to prepare versions for Sweden, Taiwan and Russia
