Q.
It seems that the prices for items in my Inventory are wrong. I think I
have the wrong country's Consultant Order Sheet.
This
answer is meant to help anyone in the five countries I support. It is meant
to help you correct a problem that would occur if the wrong country's Inventory
information is showing in your copy of the DCMS (i.e. you live in Canada,
but have an American COS (prices, items and descriptions). You do not have
to erase the present Inventory data, since, presumably, it still has your
current stock levels. Here is the procedure...
First...
Go to the Configure the DCMS option of the Utilities module and make sure
your address in the Personal Page states the correct country, since the
DCMS operates differently in each country I support. One dead giveaway
that the country is incorrect is if the program tries to automatically
install the wrong Consultant Order Sheet (COS). If the Personal Page has
the correct country already, it is possible that the database may have
dropped your country. To refresh it, change the country setting to something
else and then change it back, OK?
Second...
Open the Inventory menu and choose the last option (Change/Update COS).
You should see a list of the last three COS available for your country.
If you do not see your country in the menu in the top right of the screen,
then change the menu and choose the correct one. Then, you should see the
latest three COS dates listed on the screen for your country, the top one
being the current COS. If the dates are older than the current one, please
check my web site to see if there is a later update that you could download
(COS dates for each supported country are listed in the middle of the table
on that page) If you need an update, it's best to do it at this point
so you can have the latest COS dates to update your Inventory with)
Third...
Depending on how long the DCMS has been showing the wrong Inventory settings
(i.e. for the wrong country) you might want to reset the Inventory back
several COS editions. To do this choose the bottom COS and click Do It.
The DCMS will install that (out-of-date) order sheet, so that you can be
sure to have the items that were on that order sheet, but which might have
been dropped since then (just in case you still have some in stock). The
update will complete and return you to the DCMS. Repeat the process using
the middle COS and then again using the most recent (top-most) COS. If
the incorrect Inventory settings have just occurred, you could probably
fix it with just the topmost COS, but installing the previous two wouldn't
hurt.
That
should do it. Hope this solves your problems.
