Customer Record Keeping                                                   Back

This screen shows a Personal Information Screen in the Names Database Management facility. This screen holds the information which is common to all names in your records. For instance, name, address, phone numbers and personal information are displayed along the left column. You can display a photo of the customer or Consultant. You are able to create up to 10 lists to help organize your customer base. The Notes field allows you to record up to 20 type-written pages of free form data and in the DCMS, the Notes field is prominently displayed on the screen. In the interest of security, you can pull the Notes field down over the credit card numbers by un-clicking the "Show Credit Cards" check box in the Navigation column.

Note that the Credit Card section already allows you to track Discover cards and that Marg's Discover card is expired (displayed in red so you don't miss it when talking to her on the phone) Below the Discover Card you can track up to two more cards, like Amex or (as pictured here) the British debit cards Switch and Delta.

There is a lot of flexibility in how you display the information. You can sort the display of names in five ways; you can restrict the view of records to only selected names. Using this capability, you can, for instance, restrict the view to Prospective Recruits, and display them one by one - calling each to invite them to next week's guest night. Or you can zero in on customers whose birthdays are next week, so you can call their husbands and suggest some great gift ideas. Other screen shot on this page shows further information on the Customer and Purchase screens of this record. There is just so much information, you'll never be out of touch!
