Like a quiet yet unstoppable storm, Independent National Sales Director Debbie Mattinson hovered on the horizon of success. Although her Independent National Sales Director-In-Qualification (N.I.Q.) journey was at times thick with the storm clouds of challenge, Debbie had already painted a beautifully clear picture of the rainbow that awaited once the storm had settled.

But it's been Debbie's own steadfast commitment to her Mary Kay business that's kept her on the path to Independent National Sales Director status since holding her first skin care class in 1980.

"At that time, I was living the single-girl life, working as a flight attendant and focusing on making my own dreams come true – and I loved it," remembers Debbie. "But after that first skin care class, I found I really loved helping people feel good about themselves."

And now that Debbie has achieved her ultimate goal, she's excited to motivate others by sharing her journey.

"Speaking in front of audiences large or small is what I love to do! After all, motivating and mentoring women is what brought my area to the National level. And I plan to continue that on a daily basis by leading my National Area to all the amazing experiences I've enjoyed, from pink Cadillacs to Top Independent Sales Director Trips – and through their journey to Independent National Sales Director status," says Debbie.

Debbie's also excited to begin spending time with the crème de la crème of Mary Kay – her sister Independent National Sales Directors – and to learn their recipe for success from their individual experiences.

"I definitely feel like the new girl on the block – but in a good way!" says Debbie excitedly. "For years, I've watched and been inspired by our beautiful Independent National Sales Directors – and it's amazing to suddenly find myself a part of the sisterhood."

Armed with her commitment and passion for Mary Kay, Debbie is sure to inspire other women to see through the storm clouds and achieve their dreams. 
 
 

Debbie and I have been friends since my first days in Mary Kay. We joined the company within days of each other, and attended my first training session with Anne Newbury. Over the years, we have trained together, travelled together and worked together. It is so appropriate that we are here, 31 years later, both National Sales Directors and good friends. It's also great to be able to share this with Anne! I also find it a testament to the quality of our Mary Kay products that we both look just as cute as we did when we joined Mary Kay!
